Motorhome service on Öland — we can help
If you're on Öland with a motorhome making an odd noise — call us now on 0485-270 70. We have the space, the lift and the experience for large vehicles, and we know every day in the workshop is a day off your holiday. We also do planned service before the trip, so you never have to stand here in a panic.
Service
Service to the manufacturer's schedule — oil, filters, brakes, fluids, chassis. Motorhomes are usually built on Fiat Ducato, Mercedes Sprinter or Ford Transit, and we handle all three. Half a day, service book stamped.
Motorhomes sit still for most of the year, then get driven hard and fully loaded for a few summer weeks. That's the worst combination for oil, brakes and batteries. Book the service in April, before your holiday, so we can go through everything without stress.

Diagnostics and repair — engine, brakes, clutch, exhaust and chassis electronics. We run diagnostics, call you with the finding and quote, and don't start work until you approve.
If you're on the road and something sounds wrong — come straight in, we'll make room. Most motorhome problems are brakes seized after standing, batteries that lost charge, or hoses gone dry. Often done the same day.

AC service on the cab climate system — leak check, refrigerant top-up and compressor inspection. One hour for a standard top-up, longer if there's a leak.
Motorhome AC has to work in southern European heat with a fully loaded vehicle — it wears faster than a car AC. Service every two years, ideally in spring before the trip south.

Tyre changes, balancing and alignment for large vehicles. We have equipment for motorhome wheels up to 17–19 inches and sell camping-rated (CP) tyres when required.
Motorhome tyres age faster than they wear — the rubber dries out from sun and standing. If we see cracks in the sidewall they should be changed even with tread left. Don't trust tyres older than six years on a heavy vehicle.

We have the space, the lifts and the tools for heavy vehicles. Motorhomes up to 3.5 tonnes drive straight in, heavier models we discuss first.
Many workshops on the island can't take a motorhome — the door is too low or the lift too weak. With us you drive straight in. Call first if you're unsure of height and length, and we'll set aside the right bay.

Keep a trickle charger in winter
Motorhome batteries lose charge even when standing. Connect a trickle charger from October to April — a new starter battery costs more than six chargers.

Book service in April
Call in February or March for a booking in April or early May. That gives us time to go through the vehicle before your first trip. June is too late.

Run the AC once a month
Even in winter — 10 minutes is enough. The compressor needs to circulate the oil, otherwise the seals dry out and you get leaks next summer.

Check the age of your tyres
The DOT code on the sidewall shows the week and year of manufacture. On a motorhome replace after six years even with tread left — the rubber dries from sun and standing.

AC mould smells bad
If you switch the motorhome off with the AC running, moisture collects in the evaporator. Turn the AC off one minute before the engine — it dries the system and keeps mould smell away.
